How to Brew the Perfect Filter Coffee

Filter coffee brewing is slow, patient, and rewarding. It brings out clarity and layered aroma from light roast beans.

Traditional South Indian Filter Method:

Grind: Medium-fine (slightly coarser than espresso)

Add Coffee: Fill upper chamber with coffee (do not over-compress)

Water: Pour hot water (90–96°C) slowly over grounds

Brew Time: Allow 10–15 minutes for slow percolation

Decoction: Collect in lower chamber

Serve: Mix decoction with hot milk and sugar as preferred

Pro Tip:
For a brighter cup, reduce milk ratio slightly. For a stronger traditional taste, increase decoction concentration rather than grinding finer.

Vaishnavi Estate is a single-family coffee plantation in the misty hills of Coorg, Karnataka—established in 1928 and operated by four generations of the same family. We do not source from external farms. We do not blend with other origins. Every bean we sell is grown, harvested, processed, and roasted on our own land in Coorg.

Our coffee grows under a natural shade canopy in the Western Ghats—protected from harsh sun, slowed by altitude, and surrounded by rich biodiversity. We use traditional natural processing methods and roast fresh in small batches only after you order, ensuring maximum clarity and freshness.
