How to Brew the Perfect French Press

French Press brewing is forgiving, immersive, and built for rich extraction. Follow this method for the cleanest, most balanced cup:

Measure: Add 1 tablespoon (10–12g) of coarse-ground coffee per 100ml of water

Heat Water: Bring water to 90–94°C

Pour: Add hot water over the coffee grounds and stir gently

Steep: Place the lid with the plunger raised and brew for 4 minutes

Press: Push the plunger down slowly and evenly

Serve: Pour immediately and enjoy a rich, aromatic cup with bold body

Pro Tip: Dark roast naturally extracts faster. If you prefer a smoother cup, reduce brewing time slightly to 3.5 minutes. For a stronger cup, increase the coffee dose rather than extending brew time.

Vaishnavi Estate is a single-family coffee plantation in the misty hills of Coorg, Karnataka—established in 1928 and operated by four generations of the same family. We do not source from external farms. We do not blend with other origins. Every bean we sell is grown, harvested, processed, and roasted on our own land in Coorg.

Our coffee grows under a natural shade canopy in the Western Ghats—protected from harsh sun, slowed by altitude, and surrounded by a thriving biodiversity of birds, bees, and native trees. We process our coffee using the traditional natural dry method, without water, preserving the full depth of the bean's character. We then roast it fresh on German Probat roasters in small batches—only after you order—so what reaches you is always at its peak.

This is not coffee made for the masses. It's coffee made for people who appreciate bold flavour, traceable origins, and coffee that reflects the land where it was grown.
